Green Objects
Product Care & Handling
Caring for Nature, Preserved.
Green Objects are created from real plants through Mille Plateaux's specialized preservation processes. Each retains the distinctive form, texture and character of its original botanical material.
Although they no longer require the care associated with living plants, Green Objects remain natural materials. Understanding their characteristics and handling them thoughtfully can help maintain their condition.
This guide outlines the general care principles for our collection. Additional guidance may apply to individual botanical forms and products.
01
Understanding Green Objects
Every form is individual.
Each Green Object reflects the natural characteristics of the plant from which it was created.
Variations in shape, size, color and texture are part of this individuality. Even within the same species, no two botanical forms are exactly alike.
Preservation does not prevent all changes over time. Appearance may gradually evolve depending on the plant species, preservation characteristics and surrounding environment.
We value these natural differences while maintaining the specifications agreed for each product.
02
Display & Environment
A considered place for each form.
Green Objects are primarily intended for indoor display and use.
To help maintain their condition:
- Keep away from direct sunlight.
- Avoid excessive humidity and exposure to water.
- Protect from rain and other sources of moisture.
- Choose an installation location appropriate to the form and delicacy of the botanical material.
Outdoor installation is not recommended as a standard application.
If your project involves unusual environmental conditions, please consult us before installation.
03
Cleaning & Everyday Care
A gentle approach is enough.
Green Objects do not require watering, fertilizing or other routine care associated with living plants.
When dust accumulates, gently remove it with a soft, dry brush.
Avoid washing, spraying with water or using wet cleaning methods.
Take particular care around delicate leaves, stems and other botanical structures. Avoid applying unnecessary pressure during cleaning.
04
Handling & Natural Changes
Respecting the character of natural materials.
Green Objects retain the delicate structures and surfaces of real plants.
When moving or handling them, avoid unnecessary bending, pressure and friction that could affect their form or appearance.
As with other natural materials, gradual changes may occur over time. Their nature and extent depend on the botanical species, preservation characteristics and environment.
Mille Plateaux continues to observe and study the behavior of preserved botanical materials over time.
Where product-specific handling guidance is provided, please follow it alongside these general recommendations.
05
Individual Botanical Records
Different plants, different characteristics.
Our Botanical Archive brings together the botanical forms explored through Mille Plateaux's preservation practice.
Each species has its own structure, texture and material characteristics. Some may require additional consideration depending on their preserved form and intended use.
As our research and documentation develop, product-specific information may be provided alongside individual Green Objects.
